Hello Everybody,
I just wanted to send a quick thank you to everybody who helped make
our fundraiser for the skatepark a huge success. Everybody had a
great time (except the two guys I had to kick out), we had some
drinks, enjoyed some good music thanks to Malik, and got to check out
a bunch of rad art! Overall, we sold 43 pieces and raised over $3500
for the skatepark.

I would like send a special thanks to Jacob and the crew from
Insight. They were a huge help and the Dethkills Artists they brought
were awesome! I'd like to thank all the artists that were kind enough
to donate pieces for the auction and help our cause, there are way too
many to name but you all know who you are. Thank you! We also want
to give a big shout out to all the friends, family and customers who
came out to support the park and bid on pieces. The store was
absolutely packed from 6 until 9 when we had to send everybody down
the street to Native. I'd also like to give a big thanks to Sean and
the crew at Native for being so helpful and supportive of the event.
Sean went above and beyond the call of duty to help make everything
successful all around. Thank you to Christine and Amy at Parks and
Rec for holding down the bar and helping to get everything dialed.
And last but not least, I want to say thanks to all the companies that
stepped up and helped us with the event thru your donations of limited
edition goods, collectables, or pieces of art from different artists
that you work with. Thank you Insight, WeSC, Altamont, Fallen, eS,
Rise Up, Powell, Krochet Kids, DVS, Element, Bacon, Monikr,
Rootamental, World, Outlaw Ranch Productions, and Dominic from Veev!!

We'll be looking forward to more events in the near future and hope to
see you all there. If you'd like to check out some pictures from the
event, check out our Coalition Facebook page. .....and while you're
there, make sure to become a fan so you can get all our updates for
future events. Just log on to Facebook, and search Coalition (if
you're not already a fan).

Thank you!
Jono and Stephanie

ps. please forward this to any of your friends or family that you
think I forgot, or you think would want to check out the photos of the
event and become a fan.

HELMETS REQUIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!

You may have noticed that there is no attendant at the skatepark anymore. That means that there will not be a person there to loan you a helmet. Please ead the official statement below concerning ALL skaters.

The State of CA adopted as part of the Health and Safety Code in the 80s a regulation that requires City owned and operated skateparks to either have a) attended skateparks where the attendants enforce helmet and pad rules and b) requires that the City adopt an ordinance that requires skaters to wear helmets and pads. Compliance with the Health and Safety Code is what gives the City protection from liability. Non-compliance opens the City up to lawsuit in injury were to occur. There is legislation being proposed however to repeal that portion of the code which is set to expire in 2012.

Please show the city that we can handle an attendant free skate park. After all, this is how we are hoping the new park will be. So behave!

First offense tickets are $100
